Executive summary

CrowdStrike Falcon Go is worth it for a small office that wants CrowdStrike's prevention engine on its laptops and phones, will buy online without a sales call, and does not plan to investigate security alerts. It lists at $59.99 per endpoint per year, with monthly billing available at a higher rate, and CrowdStrike sells it from a single device up to a cap of 100. What you get is next-generation antivirus, USB device control and mobile protection. What you do not get is detection and response: EDR is not offered on Falcon Go, and CrowdStrike's own plan table puts it two tiers up, at Falcon Enterprise.

That gap decides the question. A business that wants EDR should not buy Falcon Go and hope; it should price Falcon Enterprise on the CrowdStrike pricing guide or buy a product that includes EDR at the entry price, such as Microsoft Defender for Business at $36.00 per user per year. On the SMB Fit Score Falcon Go scores 62, #7 of all products tracked, and ranks 6 of 9 in the antivirus ranking, where it belongs.

What does Falcon Go include, and what does it leave out?

Falcon Go is the entry bundle on CrowdStrike's pricing page. It includes Falcon Prevent, the next-generation antivirus engine, plus device control for USB storage and mobile protection for phones; the pricing page's bundle table shows those three ticked for Go. Firewall management arrives at Falcon Pro, and threat hunting and Falcon Insight XDR, the detection and response layer, arrive at Falcon Enterprise.

The things small-business buyers most often assume are included are not:

  • No EDR: Falcon Go includes next-gen AV only; EDR starts at Falcon Enterprise; Falcon Pro adds only firewall management. source · 2026-09-30
  • No ransomware rollback, patch management, email security, SIEM integration, or MSP multi-tenant in the Go tier. source · 2026-09-30
  • Limited to 100 devices; no managed detection and response available at this tier. source · 2026-09-30
  • Not for: Businesses needing EDR: Falcon Go is next-gen AV only; EDR starts at Falcon Enterprise; Falcon Pro adds only firewall management. source · 2026-10-02
  • Not for: MSPs needing multi-tenant management: not available at the Go tier. source · 2026-10-19

Ransomware rollback is not offered, patch management is not offered, and there is no managed detection and response at this tier: CrowdStrike sells that as Falcon Complete, a quote-only plan. For a business with nobody watching alerts, a product that includes analysts is the honest comparison, and the best MDR for small business ranking lists the three that do.

How much does Falcon Go cost against the alternatives?

Falcon Go costs $59.99 per endpoint per year on an annual plan. The same CrowdStrike engine with EDR, Falcon Enterprise, costs several times that per device; the pricing guide shows both plans at 5 to 100 devices and the monthly rates. Against other entry products in the antivirus ranking, Falcon Go sits above $30.00 per seat per year for the cheapest (Webroot Business Endpoint Protection) and below the category's dearest at $88.00.

Annual totals from each vendor's store or calculator at list price. "Quote only" means the vendor publishes no online price at that seat count; "Min N seats" means the vendor's smallest purchase is larger.

Two of those products change the calculation. Microsoft Defender for Business includes EDR at $36.00 per user per year, less than Falcon Go, and many Microsoft 365 offices already own it inside Business Premium. ThreatDown Advanced includes EDR, patch management and Windows ransomware rollback at $79.00 per endpoint per year. Falcon Go's case against them is the engine and the buying experience, not the feature list.

Which lab results apply to the plan you would buy?

CrowdStrike's independent results are strong, and most of them measure a different plan. In AV-Comparatives' first-half 2026 business test CrowdStrike scored 98.5% protection with 8 false positives, tested as Falcon Enterprise. In MITRE's 2025 ATT&CK Evaluation the platform detected 89 of 90 substeps on the default view, one of the strongest results in the round, but that test measures detection and response, which Falcon Go does not include. CrowdStrike has no AV-Test business result.

So the protection rate tells you about the engine Falcon Go runs; the MITRE result tells you about a plan you would not be buying. The lab results scorecard sets every product's latest round side by side, and the eight false positives are worth weighing in an office with no administrator to release blocked files.

Who should buy Falcon Go, and who should not?

  • Under 25 devices, no IT staff: Falcon Go is the easiest way for a small office to put CrowdStrike's prevention engine on laptops and phones: buy online, trial it for 15 days, pay monthly or yearly, and have it running in about an hour. It is antivirus plus USB device control and nothing more. There is no EDR, no rollback, and a ceiling of 100 devices.
  • 25 to 250 devices, MSP-managed: Skip Falcon Go as an MSP product. CrowdStrike gives this tier no multi-tenant console, no RMM or PSA integration and no SIEM feed, so each client becomes a separate login and a manual job. MSPs who want CrowdStrike should price Falcon Enterprise, the first tier with EDR.
  • Regulated (HIPAA, PCI, CMMC): CrowdStrike publishes a strong compliance record: a PCI DSS attestation for customers, CMMC 2.0 mapping, FedRAMP authorisation and a Coalfire HIPAA report. It publishes no business associate agreement, so a healthcare practice has to ask sales for one. Falcon Go does not live up to the record. With no EDR telemetry, a practice or contractor could hold every right document and still be unable to show what happened on a breached machine.

In short: buy it if you want CrowdStrike's antivirus on a handful of machines and phones, bought by card with a 15-day trial first. Do not buy it as EDR, do not buy it as an MSP platform, and do not buy it for a fleet that will pass 100 devices, because the plan stops there.

What should you check before you buy?

  1. Which plan you are quoting. If the conversation includes "detection and response", you are pricing Falcon Enterprise, not Go.
  2. Billing term. CrowdStrike refunds an annual plan cancelled within 30 days; its order terms exclude monthly plans from that refund.
  3. Renewal. Plans renew automatically at CrowdStrike's then-current price, with reminder emails at least 60 and 30 days before an annual renewal.
  4. Device count. Falcon Go is limited to 100 devices. A growing business should know the next plan up costs more and adds the EDR it may want by then.
  5. Regulated data. CrowdStrike publishes no business associate agreement offer; a healthcare practice has to ask sales for one in writing.

Frequently asked questions

Is CrowdStrike Falcon Go worth it for a small business?

Yes, if the business wants CrowdStrike's prevention engine, buys online and will not investigate alerts; no, if it wants EDR. Falcon Go lists at $59.99 per endpoint per year and includes antivirus, device control and mobile protection. EDR is not offered and starts at Falcon Enterprise.

Is CrowdStrike Falcon Go EDR?

No. Falcon Go is next-generation antivirus with device control and mobile protection. CrowdStrike's bundle table places Falcon Insight XDR, its detection and response product, in Falcon Enterprise, two plans higher.

Is Falcon Go good enough on its own?

For an office with low-risk data and nobody to read alerts, antivirus alone is a defensible choice, and Falcon Go's engine has current AV-Comparatives results. It is not enough for a business that needs a record of what happened on a breached machine, which is what EDR provides.

Falcon Go or Microsoft Defender for Business?

For most Microsoft 365 offices, Defender for Business: it includes EDR at $36.00 per user per year, less than Falcon Go, and may already be in your Business Premium licence. Falcon Go suits a business outside Microsoft's tools that wants monthly billing and a self-serve purchase. The full comparison sets out both.

Methodology and caveats

Prices are CrowdStrike's list prices from its own pricing page, rechecked on 1 November 2026 in US dollars, and inserted from the Endpoint Index data files at build time; every figure on this page comes from those files. Lab results are quoted from AV-Comparatives and MITRE with the product each lab tested named, because none of them tested Falcon Go itself. The SMB Fit Score weighs efficacy, price, operability and coverage for a small-business buyer; it does not measure how well the engine would protect your particular machines. Monthly billing rates and the Falcon Enterprise price are on the CrowdStrike pricing guide rather than repeated here.
